First Phosphate: LFP Battery Cathode Supply Chain at Fastmarkets Global Lithium, Battery & Critical Materials 2026

First Phosphate Corp. is a Canadian company developing North America's first integrated igneous phosphate mine-to-LFP battery supply chain from its properties in Saguenay, Quebec.

First Phosphate Corp. (CSE: PHOS) is a mineral development company dedicated to producing high-purity phosphate for the lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery industry. The company's Beging-Lamarche property in the Saguenay region of Quebec holds over 1,000 square kilometers of rare igneous phosphate claims, which the company states can support more than 350 GWh of LFP battery production annually. In July 2025, First Phosphate produced commercial-grade LFP 18650 battery cells using North American critical minerals, including phosphate from its Quebec property, lithium carbonate from Century Lithium, and graphite anode material from Nouveau Monde Graphite.

In November 2025, phosphate was added to the US 2025 List of Critical Minerals, recognizing its strategic importance to LFP battery production and national security. First Phosphate is developing a vertically integrated model covering the full value chain from phosphate mining through iron phosphate precursor production to LFP cathode active material. The First Saguenay iron phosphate plant targets initial production in 2026. First Phosphate joins Fastmarkets Global Lithium, Battery & Critical Materials in Las Vegas in June 2026 as a sponsor.
