Livent USA Corp. is part of Arcadium Lithium, a company formed through the merger of Livent Corporation and Allkem Limited in early 2024. Arcadium Lithium was subsequently acquired by Rio Tinto in 2025, bringing Livent's production assets into a global diversified mining group. Livent's lithium production assets in Argentina, including lithium carbonate operations in the Salta province and lithium hydroxide production in North America and Europe, are now part of Arcadium's global supply platform under Rio Tinto.
Livent has historically supplied battery-grade lithium hydroxide and specialty lithium products to EV manufacturers and energy storage customers. The company also held an offtake agreement with BMW Group for lithium supply directly to battery cell manufacturers beginning in 2022. The Livent brand joins Fastmarkets Global Lithium, Battery & Critical Materials in Las Vegas in June 2026 as a sponsor, representing one of the most established lithium supply chains in the global battery materials market.
