Neometals: Lithium Hydroxide Technology and Battery Recycling at Fastmarkets Global Lithium, Battery & Critical Materials 2026

Neometals Ltd. is an Australian company commercializing battery materials technologies including the ELi lithium hydroxide process and vanadium recovery from industrial waste streams.

Neometals Ltd. (ASX: NMT) is an Australian company commercializing technology-based business units for the battery supply chain. Its Lithium Chemicals division is advancing the patented ELi process to produce battery-grade lithium hydroxide from brines and mineral feedstocks, targeting a potential 25,000 tonne per annum operation in Portugal through a joint venture with Bondalti. The company's Vanadium Recovery program is developing a process to recover high-purity vanadium pentoxide from steel slag, with a planned 9,000 tonne per annum operation in Finland under a joint venture with steelmaker SSAB.

Neometals co-founded Primobius GmbH, a lithium-ion battery recycling joint venture with SMS Group that covered the full recycling chain from discharge and dismantling through hydrometallurgical refining. In September 2025, SMS Group acquired Neometals' 50 percent stake, making Primobius a wholly owned SMS Group subsidiary. Neometals retains a long-term service agreement with Primobius for ongoing technology development. Neometals joins Fastmarkets Global Lithium, Battery & Critical Materials in Las Vegas in June 2026 as a sponsor.
