Ana Cabral-Gardner
Ana has been the Executive Co-Chairman of Sigma Lithium since 2012. She one of the lithium industry pioneer private equity investors, becoming the company’s operating partner for A10 Investimentos. She has been the CEO of Sigma Lithium since 2021.
Sigma Lithium has the world’s fourth largest lithium industrial mineral complex in operations, and it is one of the world’s leading producers of environmentally and socially sustainable lithium materials for EV batteries.
Sigma Lithium aims to help tackle the effects of climate change with its unique Quintuple Zero Green Lithium: zero carbon, zero tailing dams, zero hazardous chemicals, Zero use of drinking water, zero dirty power.
Ana has over 20 years of experience as a senior banker at global investment banks in New York, London and Sao Paulo and over 15 years of experience as a venture capital investor.
Prior to Sigma Lithium, Ana was the co-founder and operating managing partner at A10 Investimentos, Sigma Lithium’s shareholder of reference with a controlling stake.
Previously, she was Head of Latin American Capital Markets at Goldman Sachs in New York and a Managing Director at the firm. Ana was also Head of Latin American investment banking consumer & healthcare at Barclays in Sao Paulo and a manager director. She has also held senior investment banking positions at Merrill Lynch (now BofA) in London and New York for over 8 years.
Ana sits on the global board of advisors of Columbia University. She was one of the co-founders of Mulheres do Brazil, one of the country’s largest civil society movement with 120,000 affiliates. CNBC nominated her “Change Maker 2023”, for her pioneer role in producing critical minerals sustainably and in large scale. The Brazilian industry association awarded her “Industrial Personality of the Year in 2024”, for her key role to develop lithium processing in Brazil and inserting the country with a leading position in global supply chains
