Dr. Maha Hammoud serves as a Senior Manager at General Motors, spearheading the development and deployment of battery-grade lithium processing technologies—critical to GM’s electric vehicle strategy. She works closely with the critical materials sourcing team and the cross-functional center of excellence to establish a robust supply chain footprint, optimized for economic value, scalability, supply security, sustainability, ethics, and resilience.

With over two decades of experience in battery materials engineering and cell integration, Maha has played a critical role in advancing technologies from lab-scale innovation to commercial production. At GM, she previously led the Cell Integration team, establishing foundational engineering and vertical integration practices for GM Cell.

She holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and is a recognized leader in materials innovation, with multiple patents and industry contributions.
