Rob is the Chief Economist and Commodities Strategist for Resource Capital Funds (RCF), a role that involves analyzing the macroeconomic and commodity specific factors that impact RCF investments across the global metals & mining sector.  

Zeroing in on the lithium and battery raw materials markets, Rob has followed the resource input requirements for decarbonization and different battery chemistries for close to a decade, work which has taken him to mining assets and industrial parks in Australia, Canada, China, Europe, Indonesia, the Gulf, the USA and many other locations.  His market analysis is fundamental to forming a perspective on specific assets and investment opportunities in these fast-growing markets & applications, as countries compete for capital and growth to deliver their energy, strategy and technology ambitions.     

Prior to joining RCF in 2014, Rob worked across a variety of consulting and finance roles, all focused on the natural resources sector, since starting his career in 1995.  Rob holds an Economics / International Areas Studies double honors degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and has held a CFA charter in good standing for over 20 years.
