New Announcement
Fastmarkets is pleased to announce that Vijay Shinde, Head of New Technology Solutions at Siemens Energy, will join the Next Generation Battery Chemistry panel at Fastmarkets European Battery Raw Materials 2026, taking place in Budapest this September.
As battery demand diversifies across electric vehicles, energy storage, data centers and new industrial applications, chemistry choice is becoming one of the most important commercial questions facing the supply chain. The discussion will examine how LFP, NMC, sodium ion and next generation battery technologies are shaping demand, investment and procurement strategies across Europe.
Vijay brings a technology focused perspective from Siemens Energy, one of the major industrial companies supporting the infrastructure, systems and innovation needed for the energy transition. His contribution will help connect the battery materials discussion with the wider question of how advanced energy technologies are being developed, scaled and deployed in real world markets.
The panel will explore how Europe’s position in NMC compares with the global rise of lower cost LFP, where sodium ion could become commercially relevant, and which emerging technologies are moving closer to practical deployment. It will also look at how the growth of energy storage and data center demand is changing the way battery chemistries are assessed beyond the automotive market.
The session forms part of the program at European Battery Raw Materials 2026, bringing together senior voices from across battery materials, technology, manufacturing, finance and end user markets to examine how Europe can build a more competitive and resilient battery supply chain.
